Prior to your Trip

Prior to your trip, AVA Rafting & Zipline strives to make sure every guest is aware of what is included and what they should bring for their adventure. Be sure to look over the suggested items and gear lists so you know exactly what to pack for your 2 Day Overnight Fly Fishing Trip. The great thing about AVA’s overnight trips is that almost all gear is included, such as fly fishing gear, camping gear, and meals. All you need to remember is to bring your sleeping bag and be ready for an adventure! Guests over the age of 16 will need to provide a valid Colorado Fishing License. Colorado Fishing Licenses can be purchased online with Colorado Parks & WildlifeTake Me Fishing and/or at most outdoors stores.

This operation is conducted by AVA.

What to Bring

The 2 day overnight fly fishing trip combines both float and wade fly fishing and camping to create the quintessential Colorado adventure. We’ll provide the meals and gear, you just bring that fishing license and a sleeping bag (we can also provide you with one for a small fee)! A camping fishing trip allows you the opportunity to cover more river miles which means you will wake up to a fresh, new section of river each day with different fishing prospects ripe to explore.

What to expect

You’ll meet us at our outpost to check in and final packing before we head to the put-in for a quick casting clinic with our guide before we hit the water. We’ll float fish down the Colorado river for a few hours before stopping for some lunch and then continuing fishing all the way down the river until arriving at our campsite. At camp we will get settled, enjoy some drinks, play river games, hike, etc. while your guides prepare a delicious dinner. After dinner you will be welcome to spend your time wade fishing, hanging around the camp, or just relaxing until we light the camp fire!

The second day will begin with a hearty breakfast and a bit of wade fishing before we hit the river again. We’ll float fish for a couple of hours all the way to our take out location where we’ll have lunch and head back to the shop!

This trip is perfect for groups of 2-4 people with one fishing guide per every 2 guests.
